The Myth of Miller

Last year I met one of my favorite artists. Melissa Miller. That's right, it was awesome, and so was she. She gave a lecture at my university last February and talked about her work, and her process, but most she spoke about the subject matter of her paintings, animal mythology. It was so fascinating. This lecture was just one of the events of my life that pointed me to looking more and more into mytholoy.
Finally I broke down and bought three Joeseph Campbell books, and I have started reading the Power of Myth. So far, and really I'm not that far into it, I feel like I am falling in love with a dead man. I mean he's just so...well, let me just quote him.

"People say that what we're all seeking is a meaning for life. I don't think that's what we're really seeking. I think that what we're seeking is an experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely physical plane will have resonances within our own innermost being and reality, so that we actually feel the rapture of being alive."

That is exactly my goal. Over all, to be ratured with life. Completely caught up in it. Its weird to say raptured in a sentence and not want to gag.

With out further adue I introduce to you, the glory of Melissa Miller
