Bringing Eve To Life.

I've been working on this sculpture, for a couple of months, though not as diligently as a I should, but I figured, what the Hell why not show off the process, since I started taking pictures of things as they came to light. And this is after all a works in progress thing.

So you start out welding together some steel rods, hot rolled or something or another, I will get the lingo down this year! I will, I must!

And then you spray paint that, because you don't want the thing to rust and ruin your lovely white plaster, though I am curious, so one day I think I shall.

Then as you see above you take recyclables that you forgot to take to the recycling center and tape/shove them delicately and jam pack the armature with plastic bottles and bags.
After that you sew with wire, window screening (say that three times fast) onto the armature and wrap in some areas so the plaster has something to adhere to. You will need gloves for this.
My weekend on the Windy Hill farm helped me out here, with some new wire techniques, so wiring chicken fence can be useful to art. (Actually I'm pretty sure I can make anything useful to my art.)

This can get a little tedious...

After that, you start covering the structure with plaster. Start with the base so that it won't topple over.

This takes a long time.

I'm still doing it.

Its a back and forth process, mostly posted right now is more the forth part.

She's come along way since may, when all these pictures were taken. But I haven't taken pictures recently. I'll try and update more, soon.
One day not too far away, she will be done...hopefully it won't be too far away.

When You're Poor.

I'm in Huntsville you know where I grew up. And this summer I'm quite literally a starving artist, sooo I stole some tomatoes from the Sam Houston Museum.

The Month of May.

I know that it's July. And I'll get to what I did in June, but first things first...May.

Baloo and I went to Junction for with my watercolor class. And since I seem to have forgotten my camera for the event here is a picture, still taken in May, of us lying about.

Well Junction was fantastic, really refreshing, but the remainder of the month was to be rather, sleepless.

But no matter just look at all I got done!

I have decided that Watercolor is my least favorite media to work in by itself. It is a slow painstaking process that I am glad I learned, but still need to work on more being that I lack a great deal of patience which I thought I had acquired in learning how to oil paint. I think the trick is to have at least four going at once. Sadly I did not really learn that until the second week, which means towards the end of class.
But here's the one that I did almost entirely in watercolor.

I haven't really decided on a title, but right now its "I Know Why the Caged Eve Sings"

"No Sins"

"Stop Schlafly"

Again haven't really decided upon the title for this one OH and suggestions are always welcome.

"Submit to the Throne"

I've also started Eve's Journal.

And let us not forget that I had my reception on the 29th for my street photography show at the Turtle Resturant(http://www.theturtlerestaurant.com)! For which I had about 8 hours of sleep for the entire week....Which made me very glad of the small crowd.

I gave a speech, and told Italy stories. Apparently I talk constantly with my hands.

Thanks again to Mary at the Turtle, Tyler and the new bartender (whose name I forgot), and everyone who came out and supported me it was awesome! And if you weren't able to make it, no worries I still love you.
